Covid-19

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service would recommend that those wishing to enjoy the winter mountains refer to Mountaineering Scotland and Scottish Government advice regarding Covid-19 and outdoor activities.

Persistent rain has fallen at most levels for the past 15 hours. This has further depleted the snowpack below 850 metres, above this elevation the snowpack is shallow and thawing. Thankfully the Goretex garments held up well, should be drier tomorrow.

The snow melt pouring out of Stob coire nan Lochan.

Again note the rivulets of rain water pour down the hillsides.

Remnants of snow still hanging in near the summit of Stob Dearg on the Buachaille.
