New snow and strong Southerly winds

6th January 2022

New snow this morning affected higher slopes mainly above 400 metres, below this level it was rain, sleet and occasional wet snow in lee areas. Wind’s were strong to severe gale generally Southerly becoming South-Westerly later. More snow forecast overnight and on Friday with strong winds will form deeper accumulations of  unstable windslab in sheltered locations with fragile cornices above many of these areas.
