Very windy with squally showers. Storm Malik.

29th January 2022

Very windy with a return to cooler conditions. Squally showers of mainly light snow have affected  higher levels. The existing limited snowpack is re-freezing.  It will be mainly dry overnight with strengthening Southerly winds and new snow affecting the area on Sunday afternoon as Storm Corrie approaches. Unstable windslab will form in the most sheltered areas mainly where old re-frozen snow underlies, fresh cornices will be fragile. Windward slopes will generally be scoured and may well be icy in places.
