High water levels

24th December 2023

After heavy rain yesterday and overnight, water levels in Glencoe were high today. Waterfalls in the area looked impressive this morning. The day started drier than recently but winds remained very strong and the freezing level was just above the highest Glencoe summits. Showers became more frequent in the afternoon and were rain at all levels for most of the day, turning to snow only on the highest summits at the end of the afternoon. A return to colder conditions with some fresh snow tomorrow. As we are entering a more sustained colder period avalanche hazard reports for Glencoe are now being produced.
