8th January 2024

Today remained cold but with more cloud cover on the summits than yesterday and moderate South-Easterly winds. The cloud occasionally lifted and giving a few limited photo opportunities. The snow cover remains unchanged from the previous few days with a very firm surface in many locations. High pressure continues for the next few days bringing cold, dry and relatively calm conditions but with some cloud cover.

Meall a Bhuiridh from Creise

Heading towards the summit of Creise in poor visibility. There is only the very beginnings of cornice formation around the coire rim, however good navigation is required as the edge isn’t easy to see.

Looking across to the Mamores from Meall a Bhuiridh. Na Gruagaichean on the right holding plenty of snow.
