Poor Visibility

2nd January 2024

There was very limited visibility at all levels for most of today. Snow showers above 600 metres on a moderate East-South-East wind turned to rain at most levels as it cleared to give a mainly dry, but cloudy day with the freezing level around the  highest summits. Not much too see today so a limited selection of photos. A return to rain at most levels tomorrow with some summit snow possible.

Riming on rocks near summit of Meall a Bhuiridh. This is as good as the view got for most of today.

Ski tourers disappearing into the mist on the way up. Several groups of skiers were out today. Conditions for descent were challenging.

Stob Coire nam Beith appearing out of the cloud at the end of the day.
